The Youth Local Action Plans in 12 regions of Albania

The Youth Local Action Plans in 12 regions of Albania constitute a long-term cooperation project between the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) and the National Youth Congress (NYC) aiming to support youth and foster structured dialogue by creating dedicated policies for youth at the local level.

These policies are intended to be in line with the youth policies at the national level and beyond.

During 2019, 12 Youth Local Action Plans were drafted in cooperation with 12 municipalities involved in the project, which further consolidated the relationship of trust between youth local organizations and relevant municipalities, establishing the basis for a joint work in addressing the challenges that young people face at the local level, with a particular focus on education, employment, participation, healthy living, social security and EU accession.

By 2020, we will work together to further consolidate and expand the rate of implementation of Youth Local Action Plans. During this year, the project will focus on promoting youth employment.

Together with representatives of local institutions, active youth organizations at the local level, experts in the field of employment and international partners, we will implement 12 local Master Plans to promote youth employment in the 12 regions of Albania.

The vision of this long-term project continues to be a challenge to fulfil. It consists of mutual cooperation with Municipal Councils and Municipal Administrations, as well as international partners in translating these plans into concrete steps and tangible results for young people.
